Wągrowiec releases energy

Wągrowiec is a unique place, which distinguishes itself on the tourist map of Poland not only by its rich history, interesting monuments and cultural offer, but also by a great recreational and sports infrastructure, clean air and peace. All this, together with the beautiful nature around, makes Wągrowiec a perfect place for people who, on the one hand, are looking for relaxation and, on the other, for an active holiday. This is a place where everyone will find something for himself.

In Wągrowiec there are many traces of the 600-year history of the town. Here, in the valley of the Wełna and Nielba Rivers in the 14th century, the Cistercians founded a monastery and the Saint's Mary church, in which to this day we can admire a beautiful patio and an altar reconstructed according to the image from the 18th century.

At the border of Wągrowiec there is an unusual tomb of the captain of the Napoleonic army – Franciszek Łakiński. It is a 6-meter pyramid connected with an unusual legend. Łakiński predicted that Poland would regain its independence when the pines near the tomb grew taller than him. These words turned out to be prophetic.

Traces of the past can be found in Wągrowiec on many historic buildings in the Old Town, whose gem is the restored Market Square. This is the location of one of the biggest tourist attractions of the town – a dancing fountain, whose shows attract crowds of tourists every day. The Market Square is a lively town centre where many outdoor events take place. In winter, near the Market Square, you can admire the works of the world's greatest creator – nature, which along with the beginning of frosts "sculpts" an unusual ice fountain on the Wełna River.

The beautiful location of the town and the rich sports and recreational infrastructure make Wągrowiec an ideal place for active holiday enthusiasts. Lovers of water recreation will be delighted with Wągrowiec. The Aquapark is a place you can’t forget. It is one of the most modern and the most beautiful objects of this type in the region, there is a recreational swimming pool, a wild river, a bubble land, a Jacuzzi, a sauna and a SPA, a 80-meter water slide, a sports swimming pool and a salt cave with a graduation tower.

The Aquapark in Wągrowiec is located by the Durowskie Lake, which together with three other lakes and the Wełna and Nielba Rivers are a paradise for canoeing, sailing and fishing lovers. There is also a bathing lake pool with water equipment rental and a promenade, which surrounds the lake with an 11-kilometer route – ideal for walks, Nordic walking, jogging, as well as for cycling enthusiasts. When you choose a trip by ship on the Durowskie Lake, you can admire the beautiful coastline.
